Canvas64 and the Million Dollar Homepage
In 2005 the Million Dollar Homepage sold a million pixels of one web page as advertising, at one dollar a pixel in blocks of 10 × 10, and sold the last of them in January 2006 (its story). Canvas64 is the same public wall of ads, rebuilt so that a spot never stops trading: 64 cells, each claimed once for $30 and then open to a buyout by anyone at a higher price, with the owner paid every time.
The difference in one table
| The Million Dollar Homepage | Canvas64 |
|---|
| The space | 1,000,000 pixels on one page | 64 cells on a wall in a 3D night city |
| The first price | one dollar a pixel, a hundred dollars for the smallest block | $30 for a free cell |
| After the first sale | the pixels stay with their buyer; the page has no resale | anyone can buy a cell out at the next step, 1.65× the last price |
| Who a resale pays | nobody | the owner who is bought out ($49 for a cell claimed for $30), and a royalty to every earlier owner of that cell, forever |
| Where the rules live | with the site's owner | in a contract on Base that nobody can change |
| What an owner shows | an image, a link and a line of text | a photo, a name and links to Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok, Instagram, X or Linktree, changed by the owner at any time |
| How you pay | to the site | USDC on Base, from your own wallet, straight to the contract |
What carries over
The idea that made the Million Dollar Homepage famous holds here: a single page everyone can see, where buying a spot puts you in front of every visitor, and the wall itself is the story people share. Canvas64 keeps it small on purpose. With 64 cells instead of a million pixels, each owner's face, name and channel is large enough to read without zooming.
What is new
- A spot keeps its value moving. A pixel there was bought once. A cell here can always be bought, at a price that rises 1.65× per step: $30, $50, $82, $135 and on, with no cap.
- The owner is paid when they are bought out. The buyer's money goes to the owner in the same transaction, less a 2% fee and the royalties of earlier owners. Nobody can take a cell without paying its owner.
- Every owner earns from the cell's future. Each earlier owner keeps a royalty on every later sale of that cell: 5% for the first, a quarter less for each owner after.
- The rules are code. The price ladder and every payout are enforced by a contract with no owner and no upgrade, so they read the same for the first buyer and the hundredth.
- Agents can use it. Any AI agent can read the wall, price a cell and prepare a purchase for the person's wallet over a public MCP server.

The wall is live at canvas64.com. Every cell has its own page, such as https://canvas64.com/D4, with what it costs now and what its owner gets when it is bought out. To claim one you need a wallet with USDC on Base: how to pay.
